How do I get from the cruise port to Christchurch, New Zealand

Cruise ships dock in Lyttelton at the upgraded cruise berth.

Lyttelton is a port town on the north shore of Lyttelton Harbour/Whakaraupō, at the northwestern end of Banks Peninsula and close to Christchurch, on the eastern coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Wikipedia

Companion Wheels can pick you up at the port and take you wherever you would like to visit in the Christchurch and Banks Peninsula area. If you need a break from shopping then we can take you to some beautiful spots far from the crowds but still only a short drive from Lyttelton. We'll plan you day with you and make sure you are back in time to set sail to your next destination. Contact us now to book your spot for your 2024/25 trip to Christchurch.

A favourite walk of ours is Awaroa/Godley Head. The view of Lyttelton Harbour are spectacular and worth the effort. https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/canterbury/places/godley-head/things-to-do/godley-head-loop-track/ We tend to start from Summit Road so you miss the first slog up the hill! As Lyttelton is a working port you often see the tugs taking ships out of the harbour or the pilot boats directing them in.
